NordVPN is a VPN service built for people who want additional privacy and security when using the internet. On Velinqo it currently scores 9.2/10.
What is NordVPN?
NordVPN encrypts your internet connection and routes traffic through supported VPN servers. That can be useful when using public Wi-Fi, travelling, or simply reducing how much of your browsing connection is exposed to the local network.
Where NordVPN stands out
Strong all-round positioning
NordVPN is suitable for users who want one VPN for everyday browsing, travel and multiple supported devices rather than a narrowly focused tool.
Travel and public networks
A VPN can add an extra layer of protection when connecting through hotel, airport or café Wi-Fi. It does not make every online activity automatically safe, but encrypted tunnelling can reduce exposure on the local network.
Privacy-focused use
Users choosing any VPN should consider privacy policies, device compatibility, server availability and current plan terms rather than relying on a single feature.
Pros
- Strong overall Velinqo rating
- Designed for privacy and encrypted connections
- Useful for travellers and public Wi-Fi users
- Suitable for general-purpose VPN use
Cons
- A paid VPN adds another subscription
- The best plan depends on current pricing and contract length
- A VPN is not a replacement for safe browsing or account security
Who should consider NordVPN?

What to check before subscribing to NordVPN
Before choosing any VPN, check the current plan length, renewal terms, supported devices and the features included in the specific plan you are considering. Long-term promotions can look attractive, but the right choice depends on whether you actually want the longer commitment.
For travel, install and test the VPN before leaving home. Sign in on the devices you plan to carry and make sure you understand how to connect and disconnect. That is more useful than first configuring a privacy tool while relying on unfamiliar airport or hotel Wi-Fi.
NordVPN vs cheaper alternatives
Price-sensitive buyers should compare NordVPN with alternatives rather than assuming the highest-rated option is automatically the best purchase. ZoogVPN and IceVPN are two alternatives in our catalogue. Compare current plan terms, device support and the features that matter to you.

Frequently asked questions about NordVPN
Is NordVPN useful when travelling?
A VPN can be useful when you frequently connect to networks you do not control. It encrypts the connection between your device and the VPN service, but you should still use HTTPS, software updates and multi-factor authentication.
Does a VPN replace antivirus software?
No. VPNs and antivirus or endpoint-security products solve different problems. A VPN mainly protects network traffic between your device and the VPN provider.
Is NordVPN the cheapest VPN?
Our recommendation is not based on being the cheapest. Compare current prices and renewal terms directly before purchasing, especially if price is your main priority.
