How we review and compare products

Our evaluation process

3. We compare alternatives on the same core criteria so readers can understand meaningful trade-offs.
4. We identify who a product is best for, where it is weaker, and which alternatives deserve consideration.
5. We periodically revisit published reviews when products, pricing or important features change.

How scores work

A VelinQo score summarizes our overall assessment. The exact factors vary by category. Depending on the product, these can include usability, feature depth, value for money, privacy and security, compatibility, customer support and suitability for different users. A high score does not mean a product is the best choice for everyone.

Evidence and limitations

We distinguish between information we can verify from product documentation and conclusions based on our editorial analysis. We do not claim hands-on testing where it has not occurred. When first-hand testing or original measurements are available, reviews should make that evidence and the testing context clear to readers.

Affiliate independence

VelinQo may earn a commission when a reader follows an affiliate link and completes a qualifying action. Affiliate relationships can affect which merchants we are able to link to, but they should not determine the editorial score, stated pros and cons, or whether we mention a relevant alternative. Corrections and updates

Software and online services change quickly. If we find a material factual error, our goal is to correct it. Review dates should reflect meaningful editorial updates rather than cosmetic date changes.
